Split level living - 1970’s Refurb, Sussex

What was once a neglected 1970s bungalow, hidden beneath decades of tired interiors, became the perfect blank canvas for Anna’s distinctive creative vision. Layer upon layer of dated décor concealed the home’s true potential, the wall-to-wall avocado carpets stretched from room to room, while heavy damask curtains obscured both natural light and amazing views over the Southdowns.

With these remnants of the past carefully stripped away, the property revealed itself as a home of beautifully balanced proportions and quietly confident bones. Rather than imposing a singular aesthetic, Anna embraced the opportunity to celebrate the buildings modernity and individualism, using it as the foundation for an interior that feels both timeless and deeply personal.

Known for her fearless yet refined approach to decorating, Anna infused every space with her signature blend of styles, weaving together classic influences with contemporary touches. Opening up spaces and closing down others, to create the ultimate lateral living ‘flow’ , within the single story structure. Rich layers of pattern, unexpected colour pairings and carefully curated furnishings create interiors that feel collected rather than decorated, effortlessly sophisticated, yet inviting and full of warmth. Each room tells its own story while contributing to a cohesive narrative, demonstrating how thoughtful design can transform an overlooked property into a home with unmistakable character and enduring appeal.

The result is a striking reinvention that honours the simplicity of the original architecture while elevating it with texture, craftsmanship and personality. It is a testament to the power of imaginative design: proof that beneath even the most unassuming exteriors can lie the foundations of something truly exceptional.
